Once upon a time a passion for Mid Century modern furniture and a dedication to craftsmanship converged to create Music City Modern. Founded by Brian Hygge, our journey began with a childhood spent in a factory of fine furniture craftsmanship.

As a young child, I eagerly joined my grandfather at his furniture factory back home in Fort Smith Arkansas during summer breaks. It wasn't just about earning extra spending money; it was a journey into a world of craftsmanship and dedication. From the initial concept sketches to the final sale, I witnessed every step of the process—from production to upholstery, gaining a deep appreciation for the skill and commitment required to craft each piece.

Those summers are etched vividly in my memory. I can still recall the break room stocked with glazed donuts and ice-cold Sunkist vending machines. The factory itself felt like my playground, with aisles filled with solid wood furniture parts, towering piles of foam, and even a rail yard out back (though strictly off-limits to me!). I saw firsthand the hard work and dedication of each craftsman as they transformed raw materials into exquisite furniture, one piece at a time.
